This technology is interesting, it is very small scale and may find limited niche applications.

Finding alternatives and stopping burning fossil fuels in the first place by far is the most effective CO2 reduction methods.

This is of course counter to the needs of goals of fossil fuel miners and processors who understandably wish to maintain our addiction to their product.

So on balance this will most likely be used as mitigating discussion by big oil, gas and coal providers and its users as a distraction to reducing the use of their products. (remember the lobbies for tobacco last century).
